Warmer weather

Jennifer was working in Canby today and we were able to meet for lunch. While I love my two children, it sure is nice for Jennifer and I to have some time together without them.

After a pleasant drive through town (I love my truck!), I met Jennifer at Trost Elementary School. We sat on the tailgate of my new 2003 Ford F150 pickup and ate some salads from Cutsforth's Thriftway. The weather was glorious - sun shining, bright white cottonball clouds, birds singing happily, etc. Even though we were in the parking lot of the school everything was amazingly quiet. The only discernable sound was that of the birds. Amazing. What an urban paradise. Green grassy mounds surround the parking lot each with a tree or group of trees planted in them. Mt. Hood was in the background. My beautiful wife was by my side (in the back of my pickup, which seems to dredge up a long forgotten fantasy...) and the sun was warming our bodies pleasantly as we simply enjoyed one another's company.

I hope this isn't an all to fleeting spell of warmer weather.

The weather is great. It's perfect, in fact, for a friend to take me to Thai food!

Actually, the weather is much cooler now. Just so you know.

Do you have plans for this evening?

The weather is still great. Wow. It's awesome. It's been great for two months now.

What are you up to tonight? Feel like coming over for some home-made Thai food? It's not going to be Thai Dish quality, I'm afraid. It may even suck, but it'll be made with love...

It's been cooling again lately.

Well, Jeremy, your post is offically very out of date. The weather is definitely cooling and only yesterday we had our first rain of the fall.

I know you're going to cry "I don't have time to update", but come on! We all want to hear more about your life. :)

The weather has cooled, and the skies are grey. Rain comes in fits and starts. The grass is too damp to mow, and will remain long now until the spring. Even the cats are reluctant to go outside.

A few of the trees—on hilltops, alone in a field—have begun to turn, their leaves giving up the fight. The last blooms of the summer cling to the flowers desperately, eager to provide one more smile.

If enough time passes, even this entry will be up-to-date again.

I know I'm breaking my pattern here by posting more than once a month, but I just thought I should point out that it's actually much colder weather that's on the way. We're expecting record lows — twenty degrees! — this weekend. Sounds like a good time for a picnic...

Brr. It's cold.

It's cold today, too. Don't think you ate lunch on the tailgate of your new 2004 Ford F150 today, now did you?
