Ballet Class
Emma has begun taking ballet class this fall. The class is wonderful. Miss Veronica, the teacher goes over all of the positions and moves, but more importantly she makes it fun. The whole class is based on imaginative play. The little girls pretend to be tall giraffes, or soft mushrooms, or prisoners locked away until the fairy pricess comes and rescues each little girl who shows her gratitude with a curtsy and a twirl. For each occasion they all practice looking frightened, surprised, sad, happy, and grateful. Balloons, hula hoops, scarves, and feathers are also incorporated into the class. I think it is just as much fun to watch!
