Pink Eye

On Sunday we started on some outside projects. Moving the Vinca ( a vigorous vine with small purple flowers) from the back of the house to alongside the road and planting daffodils too. It is exciting to start on these projects, as well as hard work. Harrison really got into dumping the bucket of daffodils, dividing the bulbs, placing them in the holes, and covering back up with dirt. Very helpful for a five year old. Emma had a ball chasing the cat in and out of the holes and up the filbert trees. We came in after night fall with just enough energy for popcorn, apples, and a G movie.

At bedtime I looked into Harrison's eyes - pink and gooey. There goes his perfect attendance. The rest of us seem to be in the clear so far. Still I can't help blinking and rubbing my eyes frequently. I know its psychological. Reminds me of head lice in the classroom. One child has it and everyone feels like itching.

Poor Harrison! I had pink eye once while I was teaching-- no fun as an adult or child. Pink eye is a good excuse to lie on the couch with your eyes covered by a warm towel and listen to your favorite music.

I had the 'misfortune' of getting pink eye in the spring when I was in high school. I had to miss school. I did not lie on the couch with a warm towel. I got to do the spring plowing, my favorite farm job.

aww, Harrison- i'm sorry! all you people that live close to him, please give him lots of hugs for me. :) and Emma, too- i bet Harrison's really sorry that he has to miss school, unlike Dad when he was in high school. i don't think i've ever had pink eye, i'm happy to say. wish i was there to help plant things... sounds fun!

I've never had pink eye, amazing since I work so closely with kids. I have sent kids home from school with it on occasion. When this happens, I nearly have to tie my hands behind my back to keep from rubbing my eyes. Is Emma jealous of the pink-eye attention? Enjoy listening to your favorite music, Harrison. I can't wait to see the landscaping!!!

Harrison the class sure missed you when you were gone! It's great to see you are doing better now! Enjoy the sunshine and working in your yard this weekend.
