MNF

From September to January every Monday night 14 adults and 12 kids get together for a frenzy of food, fellowship, and football. The MNF group formed about ten years ago when three couples decided to watch football and play games together on Monday nights. The group has grown and changed over the years but the common thread is still MYF (Mennonite Youth Fellowship). Many years ago eight high schoolers participated in youth group at Zion: Mary Hershberger, Jd Roth, Kimberly Kropf, Julie Miller, Kristin Kauffman, Jeff Roth, Ron Kropf and Jeremy Gingerich.

They did not attend the same high school and were not in the same class. Still the friendships have lasted for 20 plus years. I find this truly amazing. The spouses and children are now a part of this MYF/MNF family. They share a common history, know each others idiosyncrasies, and can depend on help fom one another. I feel privileged to be included in this group of friends.

I wonder will the friendships of these 12+ children stand the test of time. I'm looking forward to watching it play out.

Watch out when this bunch gets to MYF. maybe JD and Kris will help out as sponsors. Their parents will need a break. We know from experience.

I think we ate them all on Tuesday! Last night we tried one of the Cook's Illustrated steak rubs -cocoa, cumn and allspice. It was great and easy! For those of you that don't recognize Jethro, he also goes by the name Jeff Roth. : )

Too funny!  Too absolutely funny! Oh the importance of real freindships!  Hope it lasts forever and I hope that others can join.  God's blessings to all!  Tell everyone we love the picture.
